Leighton and Oliver made the short trip to Kempsey SDA School last Friday morning to take chapel for the 150 High School students!
There were a few technical issues with one of the videos that we prepared the night before that kept freezing up, but over all it went well with plenty of enthusiasm from the kids to participate and win prizes, and with Oliver wrapping up the program with a short talk about living as a ‘real’ Christian and not just having the label of one.
Thanks to kempsey SDA school for having the Drift 4 Christ Team at their School!
Also thanks to Avondale College and Maxxis Tyres for getting us there!
Sunday, 21st of March, was Round 1 of the Stadium Drift Pro Tour was held at Oakburn Park Raceway in Tamworth. The day brought a good turnout of cars and spectators with 20 plus drivers in both the Pro and Level 2 drift classes.
The Team had an all round great day! Even without attending the Saturday practise, and a spin in the 3rd round, Leighton still managed to finished the day in 10th spot in the Pro Class. Leighton said that he was finally able to get the car to do what he wanted it to to, and that the new Maxxis Z1 Drift tyres made the car so much faster then before!
Would like to thank Maxxis Tyres for the awesome tyres! Autobarn Port Macquarie for the new Clutch! Graeme Gillies at Port Macquarie Automotive Specialists for the use of his work shop
Thanks also to Dave Fletcher for the accommodation for the weekend! and everyone who came out on the day to support us!
Leighton and Oliver were invited to take worship for the Tamworth Boys Brigade on the friday night before the first round of the Stadium Drift Pro Tour in Tamworth! Leighton shared his experience of growing up as a Christian in high school to the older boys. Then later, both Leighton and Oliver got to hang out with the younger kids answering their 101 questions which was lots of fun! It was a great way to spend our friday night was enjoyed by all!
The Drift 4 Christ team made the Trip to Parklands Show ground friday morning last week for the Stadium Drift media launch! Leaving Port Macquarie at 4:30am, Leighton and Oliver traveled up hoping to make it to Parklands Showground by 11am. We got there at 11:30 and after about half an hour of setting up the camera crew were there ready to go, so we made it with plenty of time to spare.
It wasn’t until we were leaving the show ground that we remembered about the daylight savings time difference and that we had actually got there half an hour early! So we would have actually been half and hour late and missed the filming if it wasn’t for the time difference and gaining an extra hour going into QLD. So it was a blessing in disguise!!

With the temperature pushing 38 degrees, and a few minor issues with the car, Leighton managed to take the win for the day, with Justin Loveday coming in 2nd and Brice Chapman in 3rd place. This put Leighton in Equal First place for the Raleigh Raceway Drift Series for 2009.
